Hi. I am new to candle making and haven't much $$ to spend as I am lowincome taking care of a disabled spouse who has a very bad heart. I bought a candle melter making machine from Finger HUt and now want to try my hand at making votives for Christmas. Can I use crayons or old candles melted down? How about those WAX candle blocks that are a parafin type and then add crayone for color? Does anyone know? If I can get some candles made and then also sell some plus sell some of my crocheted bed dolls I will then have some $$ to play with to get some scents and waxes on this new wonderful candle supply site!
I'm so excited about finding this site. Just found it a few minutes ago after surfing for candle stuff for several days.
Good luck to all the Newbies, Have fun and God Bless!
first of all GOOD FOR YOU- GO GIRL! i'm a newbie too. but i do know that you should NEVER use crayons to color candles. crayon wax will saturate & clog your wick so your candle will not burn. you can buy dye blocks for cheap .89 each, at www.onestopcandle.com. also never use food colors. good luck to you!
