Making Votives

Any advice on making Votives. Have the container candles worked out. Now want to try making votives. I've been looking at a wax that can be used for container and votives. Thought that would work but not sure how easy it is making them. Any help would be great. Thanks!!!!

Hi Trudi

I use the igi 1274 and use the pins in the votive cups, I get them from lonestar candle making supplies and what I do because I also use mottling wax for my container candles, the left over I pour into the votive metal mold with a pull out pin, so you get the hole centered, you can use a pair of needle nose plyers and pop them out, than I run my finger along the top to smooth it out and use a flat tab and 4ply wicking, hope that helps you out, even if you dont' fill the mold, fill it half way and than use another scent on your next batch it makes pretty two toned colors.

Thanks so much for the info. I didn't buy the pins for the molds. Do you think it will be impossible for me not using them?

HELP...just tried to make votives. I cannot get them out of the molds! Not sure what I did wrong. Sprayed the molds first with a Mold Releasing Spray, but they will not budge. Can you tell me what I didn't do or what I did do wrong? Thanks
